Ohio Alcohol Server Training
This online responsible server training covers essential topics—such as checking identification and handling intoxicated customers—and includes resources that address Ohio regulations regarding safe alcohol service.
Ohio does not currently require alcohol server training.
However, in April 2024, legislation was introduced that would result in a new requirement for this type of training. Trust20’s Alcohol Server Training covers the mandatory topics proposed in the bill. We are tracking the progress of OH HB504, also known as Hayden's Law, and will update this page as they become available.
Ohio’s Liquor Control Law (Chapter 4301.253) notes that establishments/employers may receive risk and damages mitigation benefits if they require their staff to complete responsible alcohol server training that includes the rules and regulations governing alcohol service, preventing alcohol service to minors, de-escalation tactics, and instructions for creating a safe evacuation plan in an emergency.
