Is Trust20 legit?

There are many food safety training and certification providers out there, so it can be hard to tell which is the right choice–and you certainly don’t want to pay for the wrong one. Thankfully, you can feel confident that Trust20 is legit because we provide accredited training and certification.

Our Food Handler Certificate Training, Food Allergy Certificate Training, Food Manager Training, and Food Protection Manager Certification are accredited by the ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB).2 This independent organization provides accreditation services in over 75 countries and is the largest in North America, meaning you can trust what Trust20 has to offer.

Unlike other providers, we also have a comprehensive, up-to-date approach to food safety. We utilize cutting-edge technology and the latest resources to develop and deliver access to our online products.

We regularly update our training products to align with current food safety regulations and best practices. We also work closely with a team of seasoned food safety professionals and subject matter experts to ensure they stay relevant to today’s rapidly evolving food industry landscape.

What exactly is Trust20?

Trust20, a registered trademark of Relish Works by Gordon Food Service, was founded in 2020 to meet the changing needs of the foodservice industry during the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, we have made it our mission to advance the culture of food safety in the United States.

In September 2021, we launched our first ANAB-accredited product: Trust20’s online Food Handler Certificate Training. Shortly after, our Food Allergy Certificate Training received its ANAB accreditation and launched in June 2022. By October 2023, our Food Protection Manager Certification joined the roster.

With Trust20, you're not just meeting state requirements; you're setting a new standard for food safety in the United States. We are constantly working to create accessible, relatable, and relevant products that support a knowledgeable, capable foodservice industry.

The end goal is to shift the perception of food safety. Training and certification are not just boxes to be checked off. They are critical to public health and the success of your career, establishment, and the entire food industry.

What does Trust20 offer?

Trust20’s online-only products can help you feel prepared for many roles within the food industry. Our core offerings include:

We also offer food safety certification products specifically approved by the Ohio Department of Health.

Not sure which of these products will help you meet your role's requirements? Check with your manager or review our state requirements page!

Is Trust20 the same as ServSafe?

Trust20 and ServSafe are both nationally accredited providers of food safety training and certification, but they are completely different companies. In almost all cases, state and local authorities accept both providers.

We believe what sets Trust20 apart is our commitment to providing a top-notch customer experience and an interactive, engaging learning experience.

Our interactive trainings are designed to serve every learning style and include accessibility features, making learning more effective (and enjoyable) for everyone.

On top of that, our chatbot, Help Center, and customer support team can help with any challenges that come up along the way. In fact, you can expect to hear from a customer support specialist in under two hours (during our regular business hours)!

What are the advantages of Trust20?

Choosing Trust20 comes with several advantages.

First, our online, interactive courses make learning about food safety enjoyable and effective. No more missing work to sit through long, video-only presentations or slogging through boring, text-heavy courses. You can take Trust20’s trainings whenever, wherever–and start and stop as needed.

Second, the courses are regularly reviewed and updated by food safety experts. You’ll always learn the latest best practices and regulations, which is key in a constantly evolving industry.

Last but certainly not least, our accreditation by the ANSI National Accreditation Board provides an additional layer of credibility. You can rest assured your credentials are recognized and respected in the industry.

The takeaway

In an industry where a single mistake can have serious consequences, food safety is a key investment in your customers and your career. Trust20 can be your trusted sidekick in food safety, and our accredited products can help you prepare to face food safety head-on.

And you don’t have to just take it from us. To date, more than 50,000 people have signed up for training through Trust20. We’re proud of the growing network of people and businesses–from restaurants to health systems and school districts–who want to advance their food safety culture with us!
