The Florida DOH mandates that specific food service establishments maintain one or more certified food protection managers. These CFPMs are responsible for overseeing food safety procedures during operations involving the preparation, storage, service, and display of food items.
According to the Florida Administrative Code, there are several establishments that require one or more certified food managers, including restaurants, public and private schools that hire contracted food service providers, fraternal organizations offering food services, mobile food units and caterers with a Florida Department of Health Food Sanitation Certificate, and detention facilities providing food services.
