Does my Food Manager Certificate Training expire?
Yes. An unused training is valid for one year from the date of purchase. Once you begin your training, you must complete it within 90 days. You will not be able to access the course once it has expired. The training is nonrefundable, and the expiration dates cannot be extended.

In order to ensure that all learners receive the same instruction prior to completing the assessment the following requisites were developed:

Learners must complete all the course activities to ensure they have received the intended instruction on each learning objective. Each module activity must be completed before you are allowed to move forward and you cannot access the exam until all activities have been completed. Previously completed content can be reviewed at any time until the assessment begins.
Learners must pass the course assessment with a 75% or higher (60 out of 80 questions) before they can receive their Certificate of Completion.

Schedule an exam session with an online proctor. You may schedule your exam during the registration process or any time after, however you must schedule it at least 72 hours prior to the date you’d like to take the test. -

You should log in to the testing platform prior to the day of your exam to test that your webcam, microphone, and operating system are compatible with the online proctoring system. -

It is a closed book exam, and you must show a photo ID to the proctor prior to beginning the exam. -

You will have one, 2-hour attempt to pass your exam.
Once you purchase a Food Manager Exam, you will be prompted to register for an account on the exam platform. Your exam must be monitored by a proctor on this platform in order to be considered valid.
Once logged in, you can schedule your remotely proctored exam and test your equipment to ensure it is compatible with the proctoring system requirements.
After scheduling your exam, you will see a countdown next to the Food Manager Exam title that will let you know when you are able to begin your exam. Once the countdown timer reaches “0,” you will see a “Launch Exam” button and must click on it to begin connecting to your remote proctor. You will not be able to access your exam without first connecting to a proctor who will secure your physical and virtual environments.
There is a two hour time limit on the exam once you begin. If you do not pass your exam on the first attempt, you will need to purchase access to a new exam.

Learners who wish to become Certified Food Protection Managers are required to complete their exams under the supervision of a proctor to ensure there is no cheating. The online proctored exam allows learners to take their assessment from the comfort of their preferred location with a remote proctor monitoring their progress.

When will I find out if I’ve passed my exam?
Upon completion of your exam, you will receive an email with your results within 24 hours.

What happens if I fail my exam?
If you do not pass your exam, you will need to purchase a new exam in order to retest. You are allowed to take the exam twice within 30 days. If you don’t pass on the second attempt, you must wait 60 days before taking the exam again. You may only attempt the exam four times within a 12-month period. All exams and retests must be overseen by an approved Trust20 remote proctor.
After your exam has been graded, you will be able to log into the testing platform to review what questions you got wrong so that you know what topics you may need to review before scheduling your next exam attempt.

How do I obtain certification as a Certified Food Protection Manager?
You must pass a food safety certification examination from an accredited certification program recognized by the Conference for Food Protection (CFP) in order to become a Certified Food Protection Manager. These credentials shall be valid for no more than five (5) years. Further requirements for certification may vary by employer, state, and local jurisdictions.
