Does Indiana require food allergy training?
No, the IDOH does not require retail food workers to complete an allergen awareness course. However, the proposed interim Indiana Retail Food Code requires all team members to be trained on safe allergen procedures to prevent cross-contamination and ensure foods containing or in contact with milk, egg, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, wheat, peanuts, soybeans, and sesame are properly labeled.
